SWITZER MAIDS LLC Scam or completely incompetent Fort Collins, Colorado

Switzer Maids posted a deal on Living Social and I purchased a 4 room house cleaning special. My family was moving and this looked like a great deal for us and the new home buyer, I was so wrong in my decision making. The short story: they did not clean the house, they did not refund my money, and they were unreachable after the scheduled appointment.

After I purchased the deal I immediately called Switzer Maids and scheduled the cleaning three weeks out, for the day after the movers came to my home to move me out. Switzer Maids confirmed with me the dates of the cleaning and that it will be the moving out special.

Two weeks before the cleaning was to happen I called again to confirm the dates of the cleaning and Switcher Maids said it was on the schedule. A couple days before the cleaning I called yet again to confirm the dates of the cleaning. This is how important it was to me that the service would take place without a hitch. The night before the cleaning I called Damen Marin (the owner of the company) and gave him a temporary code for the garage door for access to the home and said to call me on my cell if there was any problems. He assured me the service would happen and they should be out of the house by 1pm so the new occupants could move in at 3pm.

To my horror I received a call at 3:15pm from the new occupant’s realtor that the house was not cleaned. You can imagine the mess these poor new home buyers had to move into with dust from living in a home for 5 years from furniture not being moved. I immediately call Switzer Maids to see what had happened and I received their voice mail. Over the next several hours I called about 12 times. The next day I called several times and the days thereafter called several times per day only to receive the voice mail of the service. Switzer Maids and Damen Marin have never called me back to this day.

Luckily I did not pay Switzer Maids but had paid Living Social. I called Living Social and they apologize and promptly refunded my money. They said that they screen companies but sometimes bad companies slip through the cracks. I was charged a cleaning fee from the realtor since the home was not turned over in a good condition. I am looking at taking Switzer Maids to small claims court to recover this fee.

DO NOT prepay this company. This company is completely incompetent or they have no business ethics and are running a scam. Buyer beware.
