The Kirby Company phone harrassment, unending phone solicitation Ripoff Cleveland Ohio

I am appalled by the sales tactics of The Kirby Company. My husband and I bought our first house about a year ago. Since then, we have received repeated phone calls from this company asking if we wanted a "free carpet cleaning." Since we do not accept phone solicitation in our household, my answer has always been "no" and to ask if something can be sent in the mail. Each time I ask them to put us on the company Do Not Call list. Furthermore, many of the calls we receive have been after 9 pm on weeknights or before 8 am on the weekends. As a high school teacher, I get up at 4:30 am, so I am often in bed before 9. And as for before 8 am on weekends... no one should be forced to rush downstairs to get the phone for a solicitation call.

Today was the best Kirby Company phone call of all. Once again, I was contacted for a "free rug cleaning" and this time they said that my husband had been referred by a colleague. I don't know the colleague's name and I stated that we don't accept phone solicitation, and for them to send us something in the mail. This time, the woman didn't back down -- she kept trying to say "but this is a referral" and I became angry. I told her that I didn't know who she was, but I wanted our household put on the "Do Not Call" list. Finally, she told me that "I clearly had a problem, and then she hung up on me.

I have been trying to find the phone number of the local Kirby office, so that I could explain to the manager that now, not only would I never purchase a Kirby, I will also tell everyone I know to never buy a Kirby because of the rude way in which I was treated. I can't find a phone number to call, but I stumbled upon this website. So I thought this was a good place to start!
