Visions of life ulrasound in daytona beach florida
I paid her $197.00 for 2 ultasounds 30 minutes each. We wanted to use the first one so we could have some pictures of our baby to send out in christmas cards, we also didnt know what we were having yet. So, of course we wanted to know that first. When we came in the first time they told us it was a girl and they were wrong...the owner wouldnt refund us and we were to get another visit that we didnt get.

I found out the little girl doing the ultrasound didnt even have a licence....!!!! And the owner (Kim Sharps) has had three other sonogram businesses in just the last few years that are now closed.

So, Im wondering if this is a pattern and she opens a business, gets a bad name or owes some money and pops another one open and closes the old one? So, my question to you Ms. Kim Sharps is do you think you have the right to take advantage of pregnant woman, and you take no responsibility for your business or the unlicenced workers you have like Katrina!!! Which the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) was happy to know about. So, you may not be able to keep that logo on your website and I hope they take your licence as well!

I hope your shut down soon and you realize people like you will never know success! Its called KARMA and when you treat people like they dont matter it comes back around to bite you! I hope you change one day...maybe then you wont have this problem anymore, because it seems like we are not the only ones who have a problem with you.

Our side of the story

AUTHOR: Kim Sharps - Daytona Beach (U.S.A.)

To Whom It May Concern:
Mrs. Baker had a scheduled appointment in our office on 11/10/08 and purchased a Platinum Plus package. She filled out and signed our client wavier indicating she was under the care of a doctor and understood if the baby wasn't cooperative she would receive a complimentary return visit.

Karena a nationally credential sonographer with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographery (ARDMS) performed the sonogram. She spend approx. an hour with Mrs. Baker for this is the time frame we allow for all clients due to unexpected circumstances i.e., uncooperative babies.

Karena did work with Mrs. Baker for some time and had to reschedule a complimentary visit. During her visit Karena may have annotated on the images and/or video that the unborn was a girl, however, she also told her she wasn't quite sure do the position of the unborn. I say may have for I'm yet to see the images that Mrs. Baker has and she has refused on several occasions to return to my office so I myself may follow-up.

Identifying gender with ultrasound isn't 100% accurate. Doctors and sonographers have misidentified gender on many occassions. In our packages gender is optional and upon request therefore charging no more or no less for this additional service when you purchase a package.

Mrs. Baker left happy according to Karena and our office staff and scheduled to come back on 11/10/08 for a comp return visit which she didn't show for her appointment. We called her and rescheduled on 11/14/08 for her complimentary visit. Once again the baby was uncooperative. Karena once again spent time with Mrs. Baker trying to get the baby in a better position. According to Karena and our office staff Mrs. Baker appeared to be understanding and wasn't upset upon leaving. She wanted to wait until after her visit with the doctor to schedule her 2nd visit with us that came with the package she had purchased.

One day short of a month from Mrs. Baker's first appointment with us I received a call from her. Mrs. Baker called to share with me that her doctors' office identified the baby being a boy and we said it was a girl and would like her money back.

I explained to her that ultrasound isn't 100% accurate for gender and it's misidentified on many occasions even physicians are known to get it wrong. Furthermore, the gender is optional and upon request. I apologized if our office was wrong in misidentifying the gender, if we did, and told her that I would reimburse her the difference between a 1 visit package, which she had, from a two visit package. This would be $50.00 refund and I would also give her an additional complimentary return with me and this would give me an opportunity to identify the gender myself. I even mentioned if she would like to return the video I would reimburse her $20 for that making the refund $70.00.

Mrs. Baker became very upset and said that she would not come into this office for anything that she just wanted all her money back. She wanted to give me her credit card over the phone and I mentioned she would have to come in for me to run a credit on her card and sign the credit receipt and return the video. She said she would not come in and I told her I would send a check of $50 to her via mail.

I sent a check to her of $50 with a letter again offering my services to them.

Mrs. Baker called to inform me that she received the check and letter and didn't understand how I came up with that amount. She proceeded to raise her voice and speak about the packaged items, being able to see the baby at her other visit and not at our office, and how much she has done already in reference to it being a girl and what the legal ramifications will be for me. I attempted on several occasions to explain and answer her questions and was rudely interrupted more than once. She was yelling loud enough to have the doctor in the room and a coworker hear her from across the room.

In hope of satisfying her I told her to return the package with the items in it and I will reimburse her what she felt fair. She claimed that the business made enough money to reimburse her 100%. I tried reasoning with her even as to answer her questions on what I pay to hire help and my expenses. I requested she come in to the office right now and we would settle the refund. Mrs. Baker proceeded to want to discuss the matter to the point of mentioning that she was recording the conversation. I told her that was against the law and felt a need to hang up for the conversation was going no where.

I have attempted to accommodate Ms Baker in a professional and courteous manner.

Thank you readers for your understanding on this matter.

FYI: The sonographer that performed the sonogram is registered with the ARDMS. You may visit the website: ardms.org and her name is Karena Wallace if you would like to follow-up. Therefore, there's not any misrepresentation of logo use on my website for the sonograms are performed by credentialed sonographers.

Furthermore, it's not mandatory that one be licensed to perform these sonograms in my office or even a doctor's office.

My Visions of Life Experience

AUTHOR: Stephanie - Pierson (U.S.A.)

I scheduled my own appointment with Visions of Life in Daytona Beach. My appointment was yesterday August 1, 2009. The day before my appointment I came across these Rip-off Complaints and yes it did make me second guess whether or not I should cancel or keep my appointment. After speaking with several people that have used them I was reassured of what a GREAT job they did with them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Fortunantely, I did not let these complaints change my mind and I kept this appointment.

I never mentioned to the sonographer that I had seen these reports, because I didn't want to bring up a sore subject. Karena was FANTASTIC!! I purchased the Premium Package, because I really wanted the extra pictures in 3D/4D. At first, the baby did not want to cooperate. Karena was more than willing to work with me and allowed me to walk around to try and get the baby to move. It worked! She got several GREAT pictures. Karena was SO nice and seemed very experienced. We even spoke of the college that she went to. I never once felt like she didn't know what she was doing.

I feel that this ultrasound was well worth every penny and that I would do it all over again in a second. I was very pleased of the job Karena did and plan to recommend this place to everyone I know expecting. I am glad I did not let these complaints change my own mind and I hope this helps steer the next expected mother from changing her mind too.

Thanks Karena,
Stephanie

I feel very bad for this girl! She sould have gotten her money back!

AUTHOR: ? - (USA)

That last posting seems kinda staged.  I went there too before I read this and I didnt have a problem either, but the girl was just out of school and she didnt seem that confident.  Luckily for me she didnt have to tell us the sex or she probably could have gotten it wrong. I dont think it was worth the money and I feel bad for the first posting, the company should send her money back.  I would not recommend them even if I had never read this but I definatly wont now. Im glad I didnt have a problem or I would have been out my money too.  I cant believe she hasnt gotten a refund, thats not right
