I went to First Choice Emergency Room in Plano, TX. as I was sick, I particularly asked the lady that please make sure my insurance covers this visit, she said "YES" it does and that "She has already verified with my insurance" guess what ! it was a lie. She never verified, after one week I receive a bill from them for $982.01 for a five min emergency visit, when I called to complain the staff was extremley unprofessional and I was threatended that a non pay account will go on my credit report, please beaware of this ripp off place. DO NOT go to this place, I would recommend a regular hospital emergency room.

Every emergency room visit in the state of Texas is filed with your insurance and there is no way of telling if your particular visit will be covered as an "emergency" or not. Also, there are deductibles that must be met before your, example (80/20), insurance kicks in and those deductibles range from plan to plan, but I could go on and on about insurance and plans. Let's get to the nitty-gritty.
I don't know of any hospital based ER that will get you in, evaluated, treated and discharged in less then five minutes which makes me believe that you weren't having a true emergency. If you truely were having an emergency and this place was able to get you in and out in five minutes then I feel you owe all of the $982.01 and then some. That's incredible turn around times for an ER. On a different note though, if your "sickness" you speak of wasn't an emergency be thankful that your insurance didn't charge you more.
The next thing you state is that you called and complained. I'm not sure, but I'm almost certain when people have it set in their mind that they are going to call and complain they are normally exasperated. Hence the reason why you felt the staff was unprofessional. I also don't think they were threatning you but merely stating the facts if you don't pay a bill it will be reported to the credit bureau, because I am sure somewhere in that lengthy conversation you had with them "complaining" you also stated you weren't going to pay the bill.
So in conclusion pay your bill and be thankful for what great services were rendered to you.
Obviously they took care of your illness, because I don't hear you mentioning anything about the quality of care or lack thereof. Oh and let us know how your next hospital ER visit goes.
Yours Truly,

This place is a rip off and seems to charge prices that are higher than real hospitals and does not actively take or work with most insurance companies. I will never go back to their location, unless they turn it into something like an ice cream shop since they are located next to restaurants, tanning beds, and gyms.
