this is my email to them:

I am writing to say I am very unhappy with fashion bug. Yesterday I was shopping and looking at clothes on a sales rack. The sign on top of it said 50% off. The tags all had red stickers with the original price crossed out and below that a sales price that was not 50% of the original price. So, I was confused as to what was 50% off. I asked the clerk. I said "Is this rack 50% off the price on the tag?" She said "Yes." So I thought, great, I can buy more stuff, which I did. I was happy with what I found, but when it was rung up the total came to more than I expected so I looked at the receipt and I did not get 50% off the price on the tag, I was given 50% off the original price (the crossed out price). Given that the original price was crossed out, why would I think IT was 50% off? It was crossed out!

The clerk said, it was indeed supposed to be that the 50% was off the original price and I paid, but I am very unhappy and feel that since the clerk told me it was 50% off the tag price (not the crossed out price) that they should have made amends and given me back the difference.

It was only about $10.00 extra that I paid and that may not sound like a lot, but times are hard and I'm on a budget. I would like this money returned to me.

I'm not going to ever shop at fashion bug again if this is not made right and I would really really appreciate it if fashion bug would stop with the misleading and deceptive sales practices and clerks were snippy about the whole incident.

THEIR UNHELPFUL ANSWER:

Thank you for your recent email. I apologize for the confusion, but all our sale ads state 50% off the original price. This does not excuse the clerk not explaining the policy, or her attitude towards you.

I cannot refund the money through customer service, but I can authorize a return at the store, if you will take your receipt back there. Please let me know when and which store you will be returning to, and I will contact them. please do not do this until I contact them first, I will need the requested information to do this.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

I was not talking about a sales ad. I was talking about a sign on the rack. I did not want to return the items. I told them this. My plan: Never shop there again and tell everyone I know not to shop there. They rip people off. This is not the first time I've been extremely unhappy with them.
