I purchased two pair of Brandini men's slacks approx. two years ago. A few months back I noticed the hems were falling down on both pair. Now my toes get caught in them when I put them on, tearing the hems further. When a new pair of pants is hemmed at purchase, the work should last for the life of the pant. This is not something you redo, unless you're getting taller or shorter!

I called Roberta in Customer Service in the Canoga Park store, she referred me to Afshin, the menswear dept. mgr., he referred me to Gail, asst. store mgr. She said she spoke to Wendy Zilbert, store mgr., who said I'd have to pay to have them hemmed again, since "they've had two years of wear". I said Robinson's May should not charge me again, since I paid for this at purchase, and this is not something that should be re-done.
I live in the neighborhood and shop a lot at the store (we have a charge card there). From now on, I'm buying my clothes up the street at Macy's.

Was there a warranty on the alterations?

AUTHOR: Gloria - New York (U.S.A.)

I was just wondering if, at the time of alterations, you were given a warranty?

I worked at Macy's when I was in high school and this report took me back to those days when I had people try to return clothes that had become unsewn at the seams a bit. Clothes, LITERALLY, at least 3-5 years old!!!! Seriously people, at some point, you just HAVE TO buy new clothes..!!! I think consumers have mistaken good customer service with being given things for free... Clothes, no matter how expensive, are not meant to last forever..

I think if Rob-May loses a customer that still wants to reap rewards off of a purchase made 2 years ago, then theyre better off! At some point "customers" can actually be better described as liabilities....
