Litigation Consulting Services Claimed that I was being sued and need to appear in court. BETHESDA Maryland

I received a call from my father a few months ago informing me that he had received a call from someone claiming to be a private investigator. He said this private investigator was looking for me and wanted my contact information (i.e phone number, address). When my father refused to give him any information and started questioning this person why he was looking for me, this so called private investigator hung up. After some time passed, without any further contact from this person, I dismissed the call as a mistake and that they were probably looking for someone else with the same first and last name as myself.

Today I received another phone call from my father. He said that a company called Litigation Consulting Services had called claiming to be private investigation and was attempting to contact me. He would not give them any information as how to contact me or my whereabouts but could take a message. This person claimed that I was being sued and needed to appear in court and for me to contact them at 240-235-5616 and provide a case number. I blocked my number (in case they had caller id) and returned the phone call. When I refused to provide any information and started questioning them I was hung up on. I called the same number again and someone else answered the call. This time I was told that I needed to provide a case number and only then would I be able to ask questions. This time I hung up because the whole ordeal was becoming more suspicious.

I'm no dummy and I know that when a person is being sued or being summoned to court you receive subpoenas, a letter in the mail, or a visit from the sheriff's office cop knocking your door. I could not think of anything that I could be sued for and considering I haven't lived at my father's residence for more than 10 years I was pretty suspicous that these phone calls boiled down to a scam to extort money from me through means of financial information such as banking info or credit cards.

After the second phone call I decided to get on the internet and research this company and that's when I found reports on this website of others that has also be contacted by this company trying to collect money, or threatening lawsuits or arrests. I also did a reverse phone lookup on their number and results showed that the location of the number is Maryland.

LITIGATION COLLECTING SERVICES is a SCAM!!! I have notified local law enforcement of this scam and I will be talking to a detective on Monday. I will also be notifying the state police, the FCC and any other organization that can stop these con-artists.

I hope that others will research this company before falling for their scare tactics scams!
