Do not under any circumstances pay this. The debt is past 7 years old so cannot affect your credit rating and is WAY beyond the Statute of Limitations. If you have call block on your phone block the phone #. If you pick up the phone and it is them tell them you will not pay and they are not to call you again - and record the call. Do NOT provide them with any information about you or your situation under any circumstances. Lastly send the following letter to the company calling you attempting to collect on this debt. They are a third party bottom feeding company attempting to pursue a debt they legally have no right to pursue. There is absolutely NOTHING they can do to you regardless of what they threaten. Make sure you have kept a record of every call - record calls if you do happen to pick up the phone.

(3) Sue you for violation of the provisions of the FDCPA.
Please keep in mind I am retired, I have the time to do this. Additionally you will lose - period. When you lose not only will you pay me $1,000 to $1,500 for each violation, you will pay any court and attorney costs I incur as well. Go ahead, continue, really I could use the extra money.
