I put my last contacts with Pioneer in this e-mail.  Over the last few months I've asked them to provide me with the information to set up an allotment from my paycheck to pay them.  They have refused to give me this info.  Therefore I do not feel confident in giving them any other payment information.  The e-mail conversation below starts from the bottom and ends at the top.

I'm deployed in Afghanistan and I have limited e-mail access. I'm an infantryman serving in Kandahar.  I had to change my bank account because there were some problems with some wrongful deductions.  When I asked pioneer the information to set up another automatic payment they refused.  I was willing to pay the late fees but they keep stacking them on.  Now they want more "personal" information from me to pay them.  As they will only accept a credit card or check to pay.  I sent them a copy of my deployment orders and they said I was "playing" with them.  I just want to pay them.  This is still ongoing, and if anyone could help me out that would be much appreciated.

--start e-mail correspondance with the company below--

Thank you for saying I'm playing around.  I just want to set up my allotment to you guys.  Thank you for getting extremely rude with me and threatening me about security clearances.  I did change my bank account information.  That is why I want to set up and allotment instead of having it come from my bank account so that can't happen again.  I've asked numerous times for the information to set up an allotment and you won't give it to me.  So I think you guys are actually playing around with me.  Thanks for helping a deployed soldier out.  Give me the info to set up an allotment.

We just spoke with you through email last month. Your email stated that you accidentally changed your bank account "stuff" in the past without notifying us. You said you were hard to get in touch with because you are deployed and asked what you needed to do at that time to get back on track. You stated that you were interested in paying us and have no intentions of issues and that it was mistake on your part. That emailed was received around the 23rd of last month, what has changed? You emailed the same thing on March 3rd and February 2nd. You are obviously playing around sir, and this is not a game. If we do not get an arrangement soon further processing will begin and this will continue to show as a refusal to pay by a service member. If you have security clearance, you should be aware this may affect you. All I need is the check information and a date of when you can pay the $269.00 (considering that your past due amount is over $1,000 and that is the amount that we could be demanding) and then I can send the allotment information.

I need the allotment information first of all.  Second I'm still deployed and won't have internet access soon to take care of this.  I also feel it is unfair to charge me so many late fees when I was unable to access internet for so long.  When will someone work with me on that?

Response to Request for Allotment Instructions

AUTHOR: Karen - Kansas City (United States of America)

Will –

My name is Karen and I am a corporate officer with Pioneer Services. I just came across your report submission posted today and wanted to get back to you immediately. While I’m still gathering information on your situation, I want to ensure you that our company and its associates our wholly committed to helping service members and military families with all of their financial services needs, and work to do so in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.

We’ve been doing so for more than 20 years, and have served more than 1.4 million persons (more than ½ coming from referrals) so I must first apologize if you feel you were treated rudely.

From the e-mail string you posted, it appears that you are a number of months behind on loan payments, which you’ve indicated is the result of you switching banks in recent months.

While one of our customer services reps will be better suited in getting this situation resolved for you, I did want to provide you the allotment information you requested. This will allow you to set up an allotment to Pioneer Services with your new bank. I’d just ask that you e-mail back the confirmation page at the completion of the set-up.

I do, however, want to caution you that setting up a new allotment without resolving the payments you have indicated were not made doesn’t address the actual default on your account, it will just address payments going forward.  Unless these missed payments can be addressed, your  account will remain in its past due status, meaning it will be subject to late fees and interest per your contract.  Over time, this type of thing could affect your credit score, and I presume that is why our representative didn’t simply want to provide allotment directions, without conveying to you the importance of trying to get caught up on any missed monthly payments.

Understanding your deployment status, there are several payment options that are available to help with this, including the following:

·          Western Union Quick Collect

·          Debit / Credit Card payments utilizing http://www.pioneerservices.com MyAccount access.

·          EFT – Electronic Funds Transfer using your bank accounts routing number and account number.

I hope the allotment information assists you in getting that process set up. I would strongly encourage you to contact Sr. Manager, Stan Gomez  to get these other issues resolved. I’m confident there is something we can do to assist you, and hope that you will take this opportunity we are providing to get these outstanding matters resolved.

Pioneer Services values you as a customer and appreciates your continued service and sacrifice.

Sincerely,

Karen

I Am a Veteran Trying to Start His Own Business

AUTHOR: bistraung - Alpharetta (United States of America)

I took a loan out with Pioneer Military Lending in the early 2000s.  I was in the US Navy.  I thought I set up an allotment from my paycheck so I could automatically pay off my loan.  Anyway, time passed by.  I left the military.  I went to school.  I got married.  I graduated.  My father passed away so I had to move from Massachusetts to Georgia.  I got these low paying jobs because none of the hospitals and universities would hire me.  Now I'm stuck in a low-paying job, so I decided the only way I can make a decent living is to start my own business.  I checked my credit report and Pioneer was on there.  I filed a dispute with the credit agencies and the next thing I know I'm receiving collection letters from Pioneer.

I consider the fact that I could be wrong.  Maybe I meant to set up an allotment and didn't.  So I sent them a letter explaining that I would apply for a debt consolidation loan.  I applied for two.  They were both denied.  In the letter I also offered to pay on a monthly basis.

They sent me a letter threatening legal action against me.

I just want to pay them, but I don't have CD's, stocks, and bonds.  All I have are bils and the only thing I could pay them is $50 every 2 weeks.  I'm thinking about just sending in the payments automatically.  I mean, what are they going to do, send them back to me?

Oh yeah, the purpose of the letter I sent them was a plea to "Pay to Delete" the information off my credit report.  I don't know what to do.
