Steve Fredrickson President and Chief Executive Officer of Portfolio Recovery is responsible for the falsyfing ALL credit and so called billing records, calling anytime they want after 9pm and before 8am (which is against the Law) They have been calling my wifeand I for the past year, saying we owe something like $5000 since 1991 from Discover Card, FIRST we never ever had a Discover Card, second we kept asking them for Proof of Card and Proof of Bill, they would then pickup their voice saying we are nothing but deadbeats and they do nothing but threaten us with TERRORISTIC THREATS.

I have had enough and maybe we should all ban, we should get a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT against them and their principals for falsying our credit reports and, something must be done, the government doesn't do anything about companies like this, PRA doesn't even have all those people working for them or even on the Stock Exchange, they lie about everything.

1-time recently I had another call from them and told them that I will be in their area Norfolk Virginia next week on business, if you do not produce proof of account by mail, they I will pay them a visit in person for the proof. Let's see what happens.

#2 Consumer Comment

re:

AUTHOR: John - Louisville (U.S.A.)

Don't waste your time talking to debt collectors on the phone....

Your first step should always be to request validation of the debt per your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Send them a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt stating:

Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, cease all verbal communications with me about this alleged debt

Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am requesting written validation of this alleged deb, validation that it is within the statute of limitations and validation of the original "date of delinquency."

I will pursue FDCPA violations if your office continues to call....

===================
If this does not work:

Next time they call, read the following statement:

Pursuant to [your state] state law, this is to inform you that this phone call is being recorded. If you do not consent to being recorded, you need to terminate this call. Pursuant to [your state] state law, continuation of this phone call after officially being informed that it is being recorded implies consent to be recorded. This recording will be used to pursue Fair Debt Collection Practice Act violations in a court of law.
