Support Kids Inc. Illegal business practices Austin Texas

When my ex wife and I first split she began using support kids, Inc. They garnished wages from me with a very official looking document sent to my employer. Support kids. kept 33% of the monies for their fees. After my ex wife and I came to an understanding and determined that it would be in everyone's best interest if I paid the money directly to her she contacted support kids to cancel her contract. She was advised that her contract could not be canceled until all of the "unpaid balances were collected" After nearly two years of fighting, arguing, lawyers more money and time I finally found out that Support kids IS NOT a legally recognized child support enforcement agency. It is in fact a collection service, just like you might use to collect on a bad check or other debt. It has neither legal recognition nor authority as a child support enforcement agency. I then found out that collection services in North Carolina are regulated by our department of insurance. After a couple of phone calls to that department their representative advised me that Support Kids, Inc. had been denied a permit to operate in NC in the past. Support Kids, Inc. was issued a cease and desist order and all of a sudden my ex wife received a letter from Support Kids indicating that all unpaid balances had been collected and that her contract had been canceled at her request.

Support kids are NOT a child enforcement agency. If you are being raked over the coals by this company keep checking and working to determine what they can and cannot do in your state. I finally got rid of them, so can you.

If you do a google search you will find hundreds of class action suits etc. against Support Kids. I would hope that someone would put them out of business sooner or later.
