Alliance One lied about interest if i could pay off Trevose, Pennsylvania

Agent has called several times to try and force me to make payments even if it were 20 dollars. I told them all I have is soc. sec. and 158 mo unemployment at this time, cant aford it. He told me it was my debt and i have to pay.  Then told me I could pay 20 mo and the interest would stop, I said if I could pay 20 dollars to please send in writing something that would state this. He said he would. What I got did not state the interest would stop. It says periodically balance would increase due to accured interest and other charges. When I last spoke to him today he said that is a form letter and the goverment makes them put this on the letter. I said I can not pay at this time. He said they would cut the balance in half if I would pay $2700. I said I do not have that kind of money. He said I could not make payments on the settlement of $2700. I am afraid this was a lie also. They keep saying borrow the money, sell something. Get the money from your x husband. My x has no money, Then he said your family, I said they have no money. THen they go through a list of my monthly debts rent, food, utilities. They keep saying interest will/has stoped as long as you pay but I do not believe them because that is not what the letter says. They call daily for the same thing and sometimes 3 x a day. I have only soc. security and 158 dolars of unemployment, I own no land. They keep saying well the debt is yours and you have to pay it off. You have to get the money and pay monthly. I have no health insurance and I have 200 dollars a month I have to pay for my meds. If I could and I told them this I would pay this off. $2500 of the $6738.77 is interest from when I stoped paying the Capital  One bill. I am afraid even if I could pay 20 dollars a month that is 90 days it would only come up again and the balance would be larger due to new interest and fees.
