If what Allied Interstate is doing is illegal and violating the FDCPA, why do they continue to harass innocent debt-free indivduals?

I am harassed by them often.. many times a day and even during the evening hours..calling with recorded messages to call them back concerning a financial matter, a debt. I have no debt.

After finally speaking to a representative, I informed her my husband and I owe nothing to anyone. We are totally debt free. Evidently they are trying to reach someone with the same name as my husband. When the representative learned I wasn't him, she became very rude and hung up on me.

I am the one who is being harassed.. THEY are the ones who are mistaken. Why should we be forced to contend with a company doing business in such an unethical manner?

Can anything be done to stop their calls? How can I report them?

See my post at ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff215225.htm. That report includes the text of a letter I sent to NAFS, another bottom-feeding collection agency.

Be sure you send your letter certified, return receipt requested. Put the certified mail label/receipt number on the letter itself.

Do NOT sign the letter--leave it unsigned or just PRINT your name. Some dirtbag collection companies will forge your signature onto documents, so don't let them know what your signature looks like.

Since I sent my letter back in October 2006, the phone calls from NAFS have stopped.

Allied Interstate, Inc. has many offices nationwide. The Minnesota office is at 435 Ford Rd., #800, Minneapolis, MN 55426-1066.
