Assett Acceptance deceptive unfair collections attempt Riverview Florida

On October 12, 2004 I recived correspondence from Asset Accetpance LLC stating

"we are sympathetic to the problems these hurrican may have caused you and wanted to let you know that we have very flexible and attractive payment programs available"

The correspodence stated that their interest was for HURLEY STATE BANK Tandy/Radio Shack

The offered "call us learn how LOW we can make you monthly payment AND how we can top the interest on your account."

The also offered "a PAYMENT MATCH program, where any payment you make will be matched with a similiar amount by us. In some cases this could represent a 50% savings on the balance of your account."

The correspondence also stated "The PAYMENT MATCH credit is free money that you do not have to pay. But hurry, the offer is only good until October 30, 2004."

I immediately telphoned 1-866-266-7500 extention 6737 and asked for Mary Cole (the name on the bottom of the correspondence" I did not get Mary Cole however, Dan spoke with me and stated that the compny Asset Aceeptance LLC indeed was trying to collect an old debt.

I asked Dan when this alleged debt was purchased and he promptly told 2001. I asked Dan when was the alledged debt incurred/charged off he answer 1988. I informed that his compnay was in violation of the Fair Debtors and Collection Act. I then asked asked how could Asset Acceptance collect a 14 year old debt? He answered with we have sent 8 letters to you. I asked what was the date of these alledged letters and he answered 2001 - I told he he lied as the address he stated the letters were sent to was only 2 and 1/2 years old.

He then stated he would refer this to their legal department and hurriedly hung up.

So I called back immediatley, and the phone rang and rang and rang ( I figured caller ID ) hung up called from another phone. The phone was answered immediately, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was placed on hold. Upon a male taking me off hold I informed him that this call "was being monitored for quality control" he stated lady quit playing games and if you are recording this call I am going to hang up. I again repeated that this call was being monitored for quality control and was hung up on.

I called again and this time John got on the phone and after going through the motions about this alledged debt told me that "Dan had been misleading and that the letters went to ...... does thay address ring a bell." y

I asked for the physical address and he gave it to me.

Now all i have to do is go through h*ll to prove this debt isn't mine and is uncollectable
