Okay the first question is at any time were you aware you were being sued for the debt?  That is were you ever served notice from the court stating you had a suit pending.

If the answer is yes and you just decided to not show up, then unfortunately they got a default judgment against you.  At this time your only choice would be to try and work out something with the creditor where you can pay it off without wage garnishment.  But if they have a judgment and your state allows 25% of your wages to be garnished, it is very unlikely that they will accept only $50 a month, if they are currently getting $190 per paycheck.

Now, if you have absolutely NO knowledge of even being sued, you may be able to have the judgment vacated.  To do this you are going to have to get information on the judgment.  Your employer should have a copy of the Garnishment Order where you can track down where the suit was filed.  Once you have that you need to find the Proof of Service from the Clerk of the Court where the original suit was filed.  If you can show that you were never properly served(such as invalid address, or description of person is not you) then you have valid grounds for the motion.  If you do get the judgment vacated the garnishment will stop, and you should be able to apply to get your wages returned.  However, the creditor can still file another suit and if it is a legitimate debt you may end up in the same situation again.

Silly, This is your fault. You charged on a credit card, moved and thought it would just go away? 

How is this Chase's fault?  Did Chase force you to take the card?  Did Chase force you to charge things instead of paying cash?  Did Chase force you to ignore paying for what you charged for 2 years??

Ask your boss for contact info of what collection company is garnishing your wages. Then call those people to find out what the balance is.
