I have been fighting off this firm for over two years now!  They started by pursing a debt that was not real (I was paying the credit card co.).  Then they sent me a letter that said that if I disagreed with the debt allegations then I should write them back to get a detailed list of the debt.  I did so; and next thing I know I have a judgement against me.  Never got served, never knew when to go to court to defend myself.  Now they have been trying to garnish my bank accounts and job for the past two years!  And the debt that I owed has gone from $500 to $4000!  This is all because of "collection efforts".  I am not sure what to do with them.  How long can they pursue this?  This debt is already almost 5 years old.
