Debt Recovery Solutions based in Westbury, NY and licensed in several other states to collect debts, routinely purchases old uncollectible debts; they attempted to collect on an account purchased from Belks Dept Stores (based in North Carolina) which had been discharged in bankruptcy court (therefore the debt is uncollectible by any means) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. No email address is found for them on their website, dbtsolutions.com; even though the Internet provided the name Donald Schwartz. Attempts to contact them have failed; attempts to encourage them to stop trying to collect have failed.

If this debt was discharged in bankruptcy, you should contact the attorney that filed your bankruptcy. They should be able to help you with this.
This sort of thing happened about a year after our bankruptcy was discharged (we were being sued for a discharged debt). I called our bankruptcy attorney. He sent a letter stating that if they didn't drop the suit and stop any sort of collections activities on the debt, we would take them into bankruptcy court and sue them for violations of the automatic stay in bankruptcy. Believe me, when they got that letter, the suit was dropped within a day and we received a very nice apology letter from the attorney's office that had filed the suit. That's all it took!
That's just what our attorney told us and did for us. Also, our attorney never charged us for this because it was included in our contract for representation from our original bankruptcy. Yours might be different though but it never hurts to make a phone call even if your bankruptcy was file a long time ago. They can at least give you advice on how to proceed if they can't help you for free.
Good luck!

I was sent a collection notice from this company. I contacted them and demanded verification of the debt as I can prove it is not my debt. That was in early August 2009.As of this date still no verification. I have called and keep getting the run around.
