I made a payday loan in Nov. of 2011. On Dec 14, a company called me threatening me by saying that they work for PAYDAY loans and I had been turned over to their law offices and I was being sued for non- payment. They knew my name, social security number, address and other personal information. They told me the amount I was being sued for was $750 with late fees and penalties and if I did not pay at once I would incur more late fees. Police were being notified and I would be served at my place of employment if I did not pay at once. I did negotiate the fee to $312 on the $250 loan. And I agreed to that amount. Two days later the PAYDAY loan I had taken out was debited from my account. I called PAYDAY and they had no connections with the firm that had called me, my payment was not late and they told me I had been scammed.
