Hosto & Buchan; Unifund; Chase Sued for an account I never had Little Rock Arkansas

I was served with papers last week by Hosto & Buchan. I live in Texas and I am being sued in Dallas County for a credit card I never had. The defendants listed include my husband and mother.

I am aware that my mother had this account with Chase Manhattan and was afraid my stepfather would find out about it. When she was unable to pay it she was served papers last year by Unifund CCR Partners. My Stepdad hired an attorney and they went to mediation several times.

When I received the papers I made phonecalls to members of my family and it seems that my stepdad told the attorneys that I stole this card. I guess my mom was still too scared to tell him the truth.

I have filed an answer to the court asking them to remove my name as this is not, nor has it ever been my account. I also contacted Hosto.. asking for any documents they have showing that I was responsible for this account.

If anyone can give me further advice I would love to hear from you.
