Back in 2009 a Marshal's Notice from Ronald Moses City of NY was sent to my home claiming that I owed money to Midland Funding dba Providian...I was very intimidated by this letter and needless to say willing to clear any debt that I might owe.
I didn't think twice of it..I thought it was a debt from long ago..I contacted the Marshals office and since I was in school and working part time, I did not have the money to pay it in full but agreed to go on a payment plan. I paid the entire balance sometime at the ending of last year.
Here we are in 2010 and I recieve another letter from an entirely different Marshals office for the same debt! I could not believe this. This time its from Midland Funding LLC dba In NY Midland Funding of Delaware. The City Marshal of NY is Gregg E. Bienstock located in Bayside, NY. They are threatening to levy my peronal property if I don't pay back $1788.95. This is totally ludicrous. I am so taken back by this because I just finished paying this debt which I probably never needed to pay in the first place when it was The City Marshal Ronald Moses making the collection.
How can fraudelant acts such as this get away with robbing the respected middle class citizens of this country. My husband and I are very hard working people. We pay our taxes and we try to do this thing called "life" one day at a time..sometimes there's obstacles that get in your way such as Midland to try and trip you up.
I really need to know which direction to take at this point. I will be contacting the original collectors Ronald Moses to get proof of payment because they never sent me anything stating that my debt was paid in full.
These people must be stopped. They are taking advantage of good people that know how important it is to pay back what you owe..but in this case...I don't owe a thing ..
