I contacted "Mystery Shopper" after reading an ad in PennySaver.
I spoke with a person who asked me questions including my first, last name, phone number and address. I hesitated to provide so much info without any from the other end of the phone line but I gave it anyway because the questions were so quick.
When the person asked me if I could use a credit, debit or other form of card to make purchases, I said no I could not. The person abruptly directed me to the website which led me to this ripoffreport website.
I would advise all consumers to think twice before devulging personal information to a stranger you are responding to regarding whatever. I did not because frankly, between the many public and private agencies I deal with everyday, I've become accustomed to these questions to the extent that I can answer the next question before it's been asked!
A red flag should go up immediately when asked about financial information such as debit, credit card, banking information. I am so grateful that the Mystery Shopper conversation ended at this point, especially after reading about some of the people who were ripped off by this and similar scams.
I would like to add that I've been unemployed for a while now and as such looking in every nook and crannie for some way to earn some income to support my family. I am definetly a target for anything. Please be careful in this desperate economic time.
