I keep receiving phone calls from Nco financial services daily with hang ups. I answer and automatically someone says hello, and then its click. You call the number on the caller id and it says you must refer to your letter. What letter, never received one. On top of that, i found a phone number called them and told them to quit calling here and hanging up and the representative, or operater says where did you get this number and i told her, her response was oh great.

When asked what they want, they said its under your wifes name, then call another number and s till nothing is done,

What is going on with this company. Are they a rip off or what

I am not sure why a collection agency would hang up on someone who seems willing to at least start a conversation about something. NCO is the largest collection agency in the world. They have approximately 100 sites around the world. I know that in my agency, we only have access to certain files, not the entire network. So it can be very frustrating for us and the caller, if we can not look up the info becuase the file is not in our office.

And your location indicates you are in Maine. That is not one of the states where you can not discuss a debt with a spouse. Outside of Alabama, Iowa, and Massachusetts a debt collector can discuss a debt with your spouse without your permission.

Diana,

All you need to do is send a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request as per your rights under Federal Law, specifically the FDCPA.

Send this letter by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records.

FYI..You should never answer any call from a collector, and never speak to any collector on the phone. It will NEVER get you anywhere good.
