My husband checked his credit report 4 months ago, and everything was clear. Last week we checked his credit again, but there are 2 collection accounts on it. One for $49 from OSI Portfolio Services (2425 Commerce Ave, Suite 10, Duluth, GA 30096) and one for $49 from Palisade Collections Inc. (PO Box 105460, Atlanta, GA 30348).
Both of these collections say that the original creditor was AT&T, and they both have the same account number. The problem is that my husband has never had an account with AT&T. Also, these bogus collection agencies used an address that my husband has not lived at in over 5 years.
Worried that this would affect our recent mortgage application, my husband called AT&T to see what was going on. He spoke to over 10 different people in several different departments, and no one can bring up any information about his name or the account number.
I went online and typed in "Palisade Collections", and a list of several complaints popped up. Appearantly, Palisade Collections and OSI Portfolio are doing this same scam to hundreds of innocent people, some (like my husband) have never even had accounts with AT&T. Thanks to this and similar websites, we will now have a better chance of getting these false collections accounts erased from my husband's record.

I just wanted to thank this website for helping us to clear my husband's credit. He had some bogus information saying that he owed Palisade Collections and OSI Portfolio for an old AT&T account, but he has never had an account with AT&T. We tried to get a house, but the lender would not let us until this was straightened up. So, I looked on this website and found that this had happened to other people.
Also, I read someone's comment that talked about the validation method. My husband mailed validation letters to these collection companies and investigation letters to the credit bureaus. Within a month, this negative information was taken off my husband's credit reports. Soon we will be able to get a house. Thank you so much.
