PALISADES COLLECTION False collection attempt for AT&T and no response from Palisades Collection despite several attempts Ripoff Englewood New Jersey

There are 2 derogatory items on my credit reports with 2 separate collection agencies trying to collect on an AT&T account which does NOT belong to me. One is, Palisade Collections and I have had no success in reaching a live person despite months of writing and calling their published address and phone numbers. When I call, I am sent to a general voicemail box and to date, have received no return phone call.

Despite the fact that Palisade Collections has not written or called me, they continue to report that I owe $36 to AT&T wireless!Although, Palisade has not validated that the debt belongs to me, they continue to report this account to the credit reporting agencies.
Further, the credit agencies will not remove this false information. I was told by the other collection company on my report, Credit Solutions, that the only way to have their claim for $303.45 for another false AT&T account -was to pay the original amount that they bought "my account" for - which was $185. Then, Credit Solutions said they will "settle my account" for $185.00 and send me a letter of settlement so that I can send copies to the 3 credit reporting companies and demand that their item is removed.

Of course, AT&T has no information to help me as they no longer "have my account information". I find it amazing that I should be held responsible for money I do not owe. And also, that these collection agencies are not required to provide me with written proof that this is my account.
