Palisades Collection rip-off! Old AT&T Wireless Bill from 4 years ago. Austin Texas

My wife received a "Collection Notice" from Palisades Collection indicating that her account was sold to them by AT&T Wireless and that she owed them $1133.13!!!! My wife got worried because she had a cellular phone from AT&T 4 years ago, but she paid off all her bills.

I thought it was odd that she was just now getting this notice after 4 years and she called them on 12/27/04. They scared her into giving them our credit card information and felt "good" about the situation because they were nice enough to reduce it down to $762.00.

I started doing some research today on Google and all I put into the search engine was "Palisades Collection" and every hit said "rip off" or "fraud". I found Rip Off Report.com and started reading and my blood started to boil.

I called VISA and cancelled my credit cards. Unfortunately, the charge has already been authorized and I have to wait until it is actually posted before I can dispute it. However, I have printed out over 20 individual reports from Rip Off Report.com regarding how this company has scamed people for money. Hopefull, the information I have obtained from this website will allow me to win my dispute with credit card company.

I sincerely hope that this company is stopped and that they will be prosecuted.
