On July, 19, 2001, we made a settlement. From the current balance, we came to an agreement that we would pay a certain amount of the balance at a certain date. True to our world, we sent a money order. We thought that doing what they said, that this would be the end of our problems with Providian. However, since then, numerous collection companies have juggled our account and we are constantly being charged by these companies for the full amount. Now, we have three agencies charging us on the account at the same time damaging our credit. They are very dis-honest. Everyone should watch out for Providian Financial.

Never ever accept a word of mouth settlement (unless you have it audio taped).

Never ever accept a word of mouth settlement (unless you have it audio taped). They can simply claim that you were making a partial payment & it didn't clear your debt unless you have something in writing claiming otherwise.
