Tom,
It is actually the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act [FDCPA].
It is the FTC who is responsible for oversight, and you as an individual must sue in court to enforce your rights under the act. The FTC does not do individual enforcement.
Here is the ACTUAL contact information on them:

The attorney generals in Pennsylvannia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia have successfully sued Riddle Associates for millions on consumers behalf. It is consumer fraud what they are doing.
As for the reporting them to the Utah State Bar, it is unethical what they are doing and they should be disbarred.

reveals no such suit being brought or won. I would have to think they would like to inform those that had an interest in a case such as that-if it existed-to be able to find info on it and how to reap the minimal rewards as well as for others to have a reference as to the companies activities.
Got a link to these cases?
No agency goes to bat for an individual unfortunately. Unless someone-be it an individual or a government agency-happens to initiate a class-action on behalf of a group of people and people actually find out about it, it is indeed up to the individual to sue.

Tom,
The key word was INDIVIDUAL.
These agencies DID NOT sue on behalf of ONE person's complaint. They had most likely gathered hundreds of complaints before taking action.
Therefore, I am not WRONG.

Consumers (plural not singular). Means they sued on behalf of numerous consumers. Never did I state on behalf of a single individual.

You had to get the actual real story somewhere correct? Where is the case number or article so it can be researched?
