they called a nieghbor of my sisters who has the same last name as me and said they could help me if i call back. i ignored it. 2 months later they called my brothers prepaid cell phone. if they wanted to call me, they should have found my number. this MR alexander is saying that i am the defendant of a civil law suit and he needs to speak to me right away. i dont get it. if it was a civil suit then it is public information. they didnt give any informtion to my brother and tried to make him give up my address.
i called the number back, asked who i called and it was TRIAD. the person was a male with a deep voice, intimidating and i said whell i think i have the wrong number. he asked for my name and i didnt give it to him. he said: I will let the attorneys know you called. CREEPY. he then asked if i am trying to reach Sidney Mikells and said NO, i truly think this is a misdail. the person said "this sure is a long way to mis-dial" that is even creepier. reports on this site said dont trust them. should i just ignore this ?

I am dealing with them right now, if they continue to call people you know or your job as they have done me, make sure you call them and tell them, they are not to call you anymore. They may or may not have filed a suit against you about a debt that may be old, the statute is 4 years in california from last payment date, so if you have outstanding debt they are prob trying to collect, it is probably old debt that is about to expire according to 4 yr rule, check the courts website in your area make sure they havent filed a suit and you didnt know about it, my lawyer stated this is what they do and lie about serving court papers, then they get a default judgement against you.
First they will threaten you with a lawsuit, be careful they are vulgar and rude, document every time they call time, date what is said. They MUST according to FDCPA identify themselves, as a attempt to collect a debt to you, they must send you a letter stating this, and you need to respond with a request to verify the debt. NEVER admit you owe money even if you do! If you cannot get a decent response here is the address they gave me: Triad Associates LLC 11801 Pierce Street Riverside CA 92505 you can send a ease and desist letter to them, look it up on google one for debt collectors. send certified mail return reciept and NEVER use your home address! use a PO BOX! rent one for a few months, do not let them know where you live!!!!!
If you call them back tell them to cease all phone communication they must stop, but I am telling you now it will be difficult to get them to agree, Tell them you are recording the conversation. whatever you do, make sure you never admit to any debt, and dont give them a payment arrangement, or any bank or cc info! they are trying to use fear to scam paople out of money contact a lawyer, or if you cannot afford one look up legal aid, they can give you great advice over phone!
Look up your right under FDCPA you can sue them for each violation they do.
