United Collections Bureau. John Berrenger ,Somewhere In Florida Threats of Lien on Home, Lawsuit Toledo, Ohio

My wife received a call on June 27, 2008 at 3:30PM from a Mr. John Berrenger who is with United Collections Bureau from somewhere in Florida. He would not tell us where or give us a phone number in Florida nor a fax number. What he gave us was United Collections Bureau in Toledo OH.

He told us that if we didn't deceide on what program we wanted within the next two hours several things would happen. First they would put a lien on our home, second would file a laswuit against my wife and lawsuit papers would be served on us within the next few days.

Also, when Mr. Berrenger called he did not tell either of us that this was a call to collect a debt. He said that he was with CITI Bank Litigation Dept and we had to do something within the next couple of hours as to our deceision. He also told me that this would be the last time we would here from CITI Bank as their attorney's would be handling the rest. Since we are with Pre-Paid Legal I asked who the attorney's were and phone number so I could have Pre-Paid Legal contact them on our behalf. Never got an answer.

When talking to this man everytime I would asked a question he put me on hold and then came back with an answer. He would apologize for putting me on hold but he had to take an overseas call which I now doubt.

This company should be tackled with a class action suit as they grossly mislead people and threaten them.
