I"ve been higher education as a university faculty member and in the senior administration. The general rule of thumb at just about every college I've taught at is that a student should anticipate spending three hours per week per credit hour. So if U of P considers two 3-hour courses a full time load (which is typical in an accelerated program) you should anticipate spending about 18 hours a week on your school work. Of course, some classes will require less, and some more.

Please don't give up on your education. Check out your local community college for their online courses. You can go part time for far less than the tuition at U of P.

I just want to say I understand your pain with regard to issues with UOP.  I actually did what you did - I quit attending the UOP, primarily because of an issue with a class withdrawal that did not get posted by my advisor.  I had all A's and B's so when the advisor didn't withdraw me from the class as I asked the instructor contacted me and told me the only choice I had was to take the class - even though I didn't have the books or any of the appropriate software to do the class (back in 1997).  Since the instructor refused to drop me from the class because the advisor messed up, I received a Failing grade which caused my GPA to drop to 2.something (5 credit class).

Well - I was hoping things had gotten better at UOP and went back in 2009.  The advisors provided incorrect information but this time I refused to let them get away with it.  I started keeping a written record of all of my issues by forcing them to put everything on paper or e-mail to me. This has allowed me to show them that I was lied to and they are attempting to address the issues.  Yesterday I was supposed to be in class, but they made a mistake with my financial aid so I have to wait for them to install me in a class today.

I am 10 classes away from my BSB/IS degree and will complete my degree come HELL OR HIGH WATER.

So I want to say to you never give up - just get even!!!!!!

Why didn’t I go to another school, because every time you transfer your credits to another school they add on classes that are required by “their” program (I had 85 or more credits when I went to UOP – they did not accept all of them).

Whichever school you decide to go to please check Rip-off.com and do additional research.  Whenever someone has lost your trust and respect - make them put it in writting.

I too, went back to U of P, Axia to correct some deficiencies in my schooling.  The first two classes you have to take are required by them and have nothing to do with transfer credits which I found was odd.  After the 1st semester with them, I withdrew.  The time it took to complete 2 - 3 credit hour classes was unbelieveable!!  I spent more time on those 2 classes than I would have going to work 50 hours a week plus drive time and their instructors thought we should know how/when/why/where they wanted the finished product by osmosis.  Nothing worked the same way from instructor to instructor online.  You jumped through hoops and still it wasn't the way they wanted it.  I think I got high B's but it was useless and expensive.  I just got that student loan paid off. 

I too, felt like it was a trap.  They contacted me constantly after I withdrew as I was approved for all kinds of student loans.  However, they didn't recognize numerous credits from an accredited state university I had attended previously as it wasn't in "Their" curriculum or degree programs. 

Stay with a community or local state college.  You'll get more bang for your buck and the classes won't be as tedious or time consuming as UoP.
