I was happy and excited to start my new career with the school until I ran into some personal problems and need to take some time off bc of a serious car accident where I was injured. Attending classes became difficult and stressful. Being a single mother, fulltime employee and student I became stressed out and it reflect in my classes. I tried really hard but I was not able to complete my second semester successfully. I failed 2 classes twice and ended up on probation for 6 months where the don't release your financial aid. They you gave me 29 days to pay for 1 class and books as well as wanting me to pay $3985. After speaking with a counselor Jean she was not concerned with trying to assist with payment options that would fit my budget. I was told that the minimum they would accept would be $600 I only make $26,000 a year. I requested for breakdown of the transaction bc I was told my balance would be slightly higher than what my classes actually cost($2035 higher). They refuse to give me a breakdown, Wells Fargo my lender said that they get complaints about Axia every week. That the $2035 was recieved from the school in March but Axia said they just sent it back December 8?. I just wanted to be set up on an affordable payment plan to pay them what I owe for 2 classes and 2 books=$1980. But before I pay for money that was sent back to the lender I need an explanation to why I have to pay the lender and you the same amount when Axia already refunded them the money. My lender( Wells Fargo) as well as the Guarantor (EdmundFund)said they are not able to get involved. They are threating to put me in collections for $3985. They are not good for returning calls or answering them.

Mostly, this is just a misunderstanding of the financial side.

AUTHOR: 3ntropy - Mooresville (U.S.A.)

Unfortunately, I can't break down all of the costs and the why's, but I will let you know that I wouldn't work for a company that operates illegally or even on a shady level. Every move we make is under instense media, public, and government scrutiny because of our "non-traditional" modus operandi.

That being said, we make it as clear as we can in the enrollment department with our students that it is vital to read and understand all documents pertaining to your finances. You have to know and understand the MPN as well as the attendance, finance, and grade policies. They are right in the application.

Firstly, financial aid money cannot cover a fialed class, so if you paid for two blocks, fialed, then re-took the block and failed again, you owe for both blocks. I'm really sorry for your tough situation, and I sympathize. But you had to know about this before starting class. We usually never offer payment plans, but you can always send in a couple hundred bucks towards your balance and stay in contact with us to keep you out of collections.

Keep in mind that tuition rates increased July 1st. I know this is overwhelming, but do what you can to contact someone. If you can't get your finance counselor, call the student services general number and someone will help you from there.

Same problems

AUTHOR: Kathy - Punxsutawney (United States of America)

I am experiencing the same problem. Started school...loved it. Failed a few classes ,re-tookthem.Took 6 months off. Returned to school. Recieved a refund. Was told my upcoming classes are " On Hold " because Ineed to pay for them. I was told that I am now responsible for managing my own funds. I wish they would have told me before they sent my refund. three grand is hard to come up with. I have been attending this school for a few years and this is the first this has happened to me. My upcoming course costs were always taken out in the past. I wish Iwould have been informed. I have 12 credits left before I get my degree. It looks like I may have my classes paid for in ayear. I am very disappointed . It only makes quitting sound easier.

An Idea

AUTHOR: Zephyra - Tucson (United States of America)

I ran into this problem when the school overpaid by $1500. They attempted to bully me into paying the money back right then. After getting no where with them by being polite, I got rude. I am now waiting for them to take the money I owe out of my next disbursement. Do NOT let them bully you. They have the information you need. They have to give it to you. Stay in contact with Wells Fargo and contact every Supervisor you can until you get an answer that satisfies you.

Other then that good luck and stay on top of things.
