Grand Canyon University GCU Online College totally ripped me off, Warning do not trust this College. Internet

My job is that I am a stay at home dad living on Social Security Disability so Going back to College is so supposed to be a rewarding experience that I could make a better life for my family but instead I got Ripped Off, I knew something wasn't right when GCU kept avoiding my financial Aid Questions and Student loan Questions.
I became very uncomfortable and finally told them I wanted to withdraw from school with out penalty they informed me that i missed the deadline by a few days , the counselors seems to always be gone , this is a stall tactic so you won't be able to withdraw until after you have missed the deadline and seen how outrageous the tuition and the hidden fees are.
once i tried to withdraw from the School, they have the website set up to glitch the withdraw form into taking your Federal grant and half of your student loan. now I have to pay $ 2, 400.00 to the GCU financial Dept for 10 days of online courses. they are not a christian college , this is so much misconception it is so pathetic. I wish someone would do something about this poor representation of GOD.

Your situation, while sad, is typical of my students attending these proprietary schools. But your post makes me curious about a few things. You said you're collecting disabilty. Is your disability temporary or permanent? The reason I ask is that if it's permanent, it's unlikely you'll be able to work and earn enough to pay back the student loans. What was your plan?
If you're just looking for courses to improve yourself or your knowledge, there are lots of free classes on the internet where you can watch videos and learn about all kinds of cool stuff.

I'm very sorry to hear about this. Nowadays, the higher education is not cheap and there are many for-profit online universities popping up. They will try to get you in for the head count in order to get the subsidize money from the government. Whether or not you could get through the school, they don't really care. This business logic applies to most if not all private colleges.
One comment that you involved religious in your post, I doubt that this kind of situation would NOT happen with any Christianity college. I feel sorry for you but flaming the school on your belief is not right either. If you have ever tried to get into a Christianity college, you would see more about how money is important to education and different group of people would have different tactics in order to obtain the money. It is not about being a Christian at all...

to answer your QUESTION , yes I am Permanent disabled and Native American, I was planning on qualifying for a TEACH grant but do to the lack of effort by faculty I was never offered this or any other Funding for the Grant after i told my enrollment counselor i purposely wanted to teach on the Federal Reservation but the red flags still never went up.
I never was offered any native American Funding, This college is a factory and the students are just a number not a name. it seems they are in the business of using delay tactics to steal your Federal student AId and loans, very sneaky. i was not planning on accepting the loans just the grants and scholarships. If i can save one person from going there and ruining there life then I guess writing this report was worth it.
