I was at Kaplan from 6/2008 until I was told I ran out of money (loans) in 1/2010 when I had less than a year left. I had to deal with a pretend Ombuds whose only interest was money and that is against an Ombuds ethics. Before I left though I was sure to research and obtain every copy of every record they had of me on my Kaplan page.
I found tons of illegal and questionable papers that I never signed or knew about. It all starts with the admission paper it was all wrong but my personal information like name and address. I also found an award letter for an associates degree and with that is how they got approved for loan money; I was working on a bachelor's and all other papers said so.
I have spent the last 6 months since I left Kaplan (2/5/10) researching and putting together a complaint compliled of over 200 pages of proof against Kaplan and the lenders for forging an esign I never approved or new about the MPN (forged by ESign)or my bill of rights that KU FA conviently left out.
I tried emails and phone calls to the FA Dept. to no prevails all I got as ignored, even by managers. Anyone of importance or is in a position of power is untouchable and unreachable. Kaplan is not even Legally Accepted in my state, my degree would be good forr washing windows and they knew that they were not accredited here.
The bottom line is I do not know what kind of Attorney to Contact; Criminal, Torts, Contract or what. I have much more to tell but here is not the place but I invite those who are Attorney's or other legal professionals who want to help or other victims of the unscrupulous business behaviors of Kaplan to get a hold of me.
I am still indebt fraudulently to Kaplan and I refuse to pay for the trumped up charges. For those of you who are having a great experience through Kaplan I am glad but watch yourself you could be their next victim. It is a lot like a snake you don't see it until you are bitten.
