Kaplan University Online safelink wireless Kaplan university increased my school fees when my money from my loans and grants inceased although the school year was not up. Also they will not send my stipend checks. I have called them repeatedlt Internet

 You know, for that last 2 years that I have been in Kaplan University as a Financial Aid Officer I've heard nothing but whinning from students. All these reports about Kaplan keeping your money is really a lie, we simply can't guarantee when your lenders will send us the money, oh here's an idea, could it be dates are ESTIMATED and not guaranteed?

 Secondly, listening to your whinning about "where's my check" here's an idea - for as long as you spend on facebook, myspace, and twitter how about you spend some time on  careerbuilder.com getting a DAMN JOB! If you (students) spent nearly the amount of time on getting a job instead of bitching about school money then maybe you'd have a job. School money is for educational expenses, not for you to spend on yourself using it for your rent or feeding your 5 kids. If you have 5 kids, you should have a job dumbass. And don't call and tells us that you depend on the money to live off of - we REALLY DON'T GIVE A DAMN. We just want you off our phones so we can work on accounts that need real work

Also, learn to read. You guys can't seem to read what you sign and can't seem to read to save your lives. Instead of calling in and bitching and about the stipends, how about you READ what you signed when you applied? 

To add to your comment "They charge over three hundred dollars for credit hours when other schools only charge 70 to 80 dollars per credit hours." Check out other schools, only community colleges charge 70 to 80 dollars per credit hour, Kaplan is a UNIVERSITY much like UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA. If you really had a problem with the credit hours, drop out and go to another school, or here's an idea, could it be that EVERY year there's a tuition increase. Yes read your enrollment agreement! It clearly states tuition increases and no where on there does it say we have to ask for your permission. Did you ever think that Kaplan is also a propietary school? It's not a state school, it's a FOR PROFIT SCHOOL; hmm.... now what's that suppose to mean? Instead of trying to bad mouth something that you obviously have no clue about, do your research and you will see why things are done the way they are. As a representative of Kaplan University, you completely discredited the organization.  Telling students they are whining (notice it is spelled properly with only one n instead of two as you typed TWICE) is an improper way to handle it.  Perhaps you should consider taking a course at Kaplan called CUSTOMER SERVICE and practice such behavior.

We'll see what happens to your job when I report your rebuttal to the university.  Then, YOU will have to find a job!

I read your response and as you are employed by Kaplan I thought to myself, this is someone that is employed to support the students. I see a real intelligent answer here. This is no wonder Kaplan is in the mess they are in!

I am a student at Kaplan University and have been for several years. The problems that you are having receiving your stipend check is NOT the university. I had the same problem when I first started at Kaplan. The problem was my financial aid advisor, this could also be part of the problem you are having with the cost of your courses. Call the dean and ask for a new advisor; you have that right.

As far as the cost per credit, you have to take into consideration that the cost includes your textbooks. These items are very costly and that cost is included.

I KNOW THAT KAPLAN HAS THE BEST SCORES ON THE LSAT OR LEGAL SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST PREP COURSE. THE LSAT IS REQUIRED BY MOST LAW SCHOOLS AND IS SUPPOSEDLY A PREDICTOR OF HOW WELL YOU WILL DO IN LAW SCHOOL BEFORE YOU CAN ENROLL.  THE TEST ITSELF WAS COST $1,000 AND THE KAPLAN COURSE HERE WAS ABOUT $800-$900. BUT IF YOU WANT TO PASS THE LSAT, YOU MUST PAY UP.

THAT SAID, I DID NOT KNOW THEY HAD AN ONLINE UNIVERSITY UNTIL I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A FINANCIAL ADVISER TODAY WHO CLAIMED TO BE FROM KAPLAN. I THINK HE GOT MY TELEPHONE FORM VIRGINIA COLLEGE WHERE I WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO GO AND ALMOST ENROLL IN THEIR PARALEGAL PROGRAM ---UNTIL I LEARNED FROM THE LAWYER WHO WAS THE CHAIRMAN OF THAT PROGRAM THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET A JOB IN THE FIELD WITHOUT A BACHELOR'S DEGREE. SO WHY ARE THEY GIVING THAT COURSE? SO THEY COULD COLLECT $80,000 WORTH OF TUITION AND EVERY DIME THEY COULD EXTORT FROM ME.

WHEN I DID NOT GO FOR THAT SCAM, THEY STARTED SELLING MY CONTACT INFORMATION TO OTHER ONLINE UNIVERSITIES.

CAN YOU ACTUALLY BENEFIT FROM THE TRAINING. OR IF YOU WILL EVEN BE ABLE TO WORK IN YOUR MAJOR AREA OF STUDY WHEN YOU GET OUT.

INDEED, IS ANYONE GOING TO BE WORKING WITH THE PRESENT DEPRESSED ECONOMY?

I AM NOT SURE IF KAPLAN IS ACCREDITED BY THE SAME AGENCY THAT ACCREDITS THE MAJOR MORTAR AND BRICK UNIVERSITIES OR JUNIOR COLLEGES HERE.CALL YOUR JUNIOR COLLEGE . WHY DON'T YOU CALL UP YOUR STATE UNIVERSITY AND FIND OUT IF THEY WILL ACCEPT KAPLAN CREDITS TOWARDS A DEGREE, DON'T BE SURPRISED IF THE ANSWER IS NO.

THE SAME THINGS THE ORIGINAL POSTER NOTED ARE THE SAME THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO ME AT VIRGINIA COLLEGE. SO I GUESS THESE ONLINE COLLEGES REALLY ARE ALL ALIKE.

I DON'T THINK I WILL BE CALLING KEVIN OR DARVON OR WHATEVER HIS NAME WAS  FROM KAPLAN UNIVERSITY. I AM GLAD I HAD THE SENSE TO LOOK THIS PLACE UP ON RIP OFF REPORT FIRST.

You also have the option of filing complaints to your State Auditors Office and your State Attorney General's Office.

The offices above are very good and identifying criminal activity. Give them the opportunity to open Kaplan University's financial books. The more complaints they receive from everyone regarding this matter opens the door for an open investigation
