    Corporate Advocacy Program
I have placed many calls to this company starting soon after I was pulled into this scam. The company Rep sat at my table and told us so many things that were not true.

First being The College Network was affiliated Excelsior College. This was a big lie. Not only are they not affiliated but on one call to my “education advisor” he actually said “when you call them don't let them know you are working with us as we are not on very good terms” When I spoke to Excelsior's Admissions Department they were happy to confirm this. LIE #1

We were told that acceptance to Excelsior College was guaranteed. LIE #2

My wife and I were also told after I asked about the cancelation policy only being 3 days, that he would put it in our contract that I could take the first course and once I “ace” the test if I still wanted to cancel it would be no problem. LIE#3

I did not receive and have not received a copy of everything I signed including the extended cancelation policy when asked about this I was told that I could get copies of the contract but there was no extended cancelation agreement supported by the company. Let's put that the category of LIE#4

When I brought this to the attention of The College Network all they would say is they apologize and that Rep is no longer with the company. To that I say, who cares! Your Reps misrepresent your program to grab their commissions and then they run leaving the consumer to suffer with nothing but a loan that you cannot get out of.

Here is your chance to put things right. Hopefully there is an attorney out there that would like to take on this class action. Whether or not the Rep is with the company or not is no concern of mine. The fact is these guys are engaging in deceptive trade practices to obtain the business and then offer no resolution.

Your Complaint

AUTHOR: The College Network - Indianapolis (U.S.A.)

KC,

At this time I am unable to locate you in our system. I would be more than happy to address your concerns should you wish to contact me.

To address the concerns presented in your post, I would like to state the following:

The TCN cancellation period is on the first page of your purchase agreement in bold letters. If you do not have, or were not left with a complete copy of your paperwork, I would be more than happy to send you a copy.

Also, with regard to TCN representing themselves as being affiliated with Excelsior College, our paperwork as well as website clearly state that we have no relationship with Excelsior College.

Lastly, as TCN is an educational services company, and not a school, we would not guarantee you admission. You would have to go through the application process as dictated by the degree-granting institution.

I would be more than happy to address any questions or concerns you may have with regard to your program. Please feel free to contact me at 1-800-634-1443.

Sincerely,

Rick
TCN Academic Support

In your reply you make my case for me. You assume no responsibility for your representative's actions. Your company allows your reps to make false claims and hide behind the high pressure sales. Having called your Academic Support Line several times and being told the rep no longer works for our company, what would be the point to contact you again. I find it a better use of my time to call the Texas Attorney General office. I find it very sad that your company had to employ a staff to monitor ripoffreport.com to try and maintain creditability. Admit you work for scam artist. Admit your reps have grossly misrepresented your program and stop hiding behind the fine print that your reps do not provide copies of.

KC's response

AUTHOR: The College Network - Indianapolis (U.S.A.)

KC,

The aspects of your program that you claim are lies are not true. We understand that there are a lot of details to the program and that is why we put everything in writing. Our paperwork states that we have no relationship with Excelsior College. Our paperwork also states the cancellation period for the purchase agreement in bold right above where you sign. I can see where there may have been a misunderstanding or miscommunication due to the complexity of and the amount of information associated with the program, but I'm not sure I understand why someone would lie to you about aspects of the program that are spelled out in black and white. Obviously I was not at the meeting and that is why I have invited you to contact me directly. You are welcome to do so at any time as I would be more than happy to address your concerns. My number is 1-800-634-1443.

And yes, I do believe it is unfortunate that our company has to monitor consumer sites such as these, but we feel it is important to present and fair and accurate portrayal of our products, services, and employees.

Sincerely,
Rick
