First off I'm going to start by saying that I started taking online classes with UoP back in 2006. Even though I had a really bad counselor to begin with, there was always another counselor that I could speak with that gave me the information that I needed. My comment is to the student that said she was dropped from her classesdue to attendance and that attendance is date and time stamped when you log into the site. That is completely false and is covered during the orientation process of school. Just because you log into your class doesn't mean you were in class. You have to actually do work in the class in order for the system to know you were there. This is because attendance is taken electronically. Everyone knows this. When you were coming close to being dropped from your class, I'm positive that your counsleors were blowing up your phone and email with attendance reminders and you probably chose to ignore them. You being dropped is your fault, not the schools. After all, this is college not high school. It's not the schools job to hold your hand. I've actually taken classes at Grand Canyon University and Rio Salado Online and the situation is the same. You don't go to class and complete work, you get dropped and it's your fault! As far as the money goes, UoP is one of the cheaper online schools so you didn't do your homework as far as that goes. They also tell you that you have to complete a certain amount of credits in order for grant money to be yours....this is set by the DOE so look it up. You are also told that it can take up to 60 days to get any money. That's clearly longer than 9 weeks, do the math. The government give you money to pay for school, not your car payment. If you fail or get dropped from class, yes, you should have to pay to retake it. Again, do your homework next time cause this is the same at online schools and ground campuses. And yes to the other student, if it is on your credit report it should be. You took out a loan and agreed to the terms now pay it back! Bad students kill me cause you always have someone else to blame because you are a slacker and can't get it together. Makes it seem like the only reason you went to school was to see if you could have money sent out to you. That makes you a fraud student and you shouldn't be given any money foranything. All in all nobody lied to you, you're just a flippin idiot and probably shouldn't be in college anyway! I've since graduated with my BA dgree and currently working on my Masters. I'm extremely happy with the school and look forward to what the next year brings.
