I had signed up for this service for my boyfriend some 3 years ago when there was a lack of good long distance plans on the market trying get a deal on long distance. And boy what deal it was.. for them anyway! I used my credit card cause he didn't have one the time. Now i am stuck arguing with them trying to get my money back because of the autorenewal scam. They didn't even email/mail me and just quietly charged my card hoping i won't notice. We moved from that address and lost that phone number about a year ago and haven't used the service in more year and a half.

Why are companies allowed to do this in Canada? Just cause they have my credit card information they can use it over and over without my authorisation and call it Auto Renewal!

So now since the account was on his phone number originally, i had to get him to call them. They told him to fax them proof of our new address and proof that my credit card was charged. WHat??? I have to prove to them that they charged my credit card??
