P.C. Parts Misrepresentation of merchandise refusal of warranty deceptive company East Lake Ohio

This group was well-known in the Marketpro Computer shows...especially in the Pittsburgh, PA and Erie, PA areas. They were selling in the Pgh. Marketpro Show and offered "surplus" hard drives that were being "sold for a computer manufacturer". The drives were WD 40G drives with mfg dates varying from one 3 months to 6 months previous. I asked anout the warranty on these drives and was told "WD will warrant them for 3 years and if they don't for any reason, we will".

I purchased two drives at $55 each on a Saturday in Monroeville, PA and stayed overnight in Pgh. On Monday I was unable to install the drives and was forced to wait until two weeks later.

When I installed the drives, they failed WD diagnoatics and could not be formatted. I contacted WD for warranty info and was told the drives were sold to a mfgr and the warranty was to be directed to the company but they refused to tell me who the company was (return to the mfgr of your computer). I advised them that I didn't receive the drives in a system but purchased them from a "dealer".

I then contacted the company, P. C. Parts for warranty and was told the drives only carried a "3-day guarantee". I contacted Marketpro about the issue but they refused to contact P. C. Parts as they were involved with them as a client.

So I sit with two hard drives that were "warranted" but failed and get nothing from P.C. Parts, Marketpro, or the OEM company that orifinally purchased the drives. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! Marketpro will NOT give you the time of day even if you are ripped off by one of their displayers.

In closing, be VERY careful of the vendors at a Marketpro Show. Do NOT accept anything from any vendor without a WRITTEN warranty with a time frame included. Even new parts and products can be a problem.
