The $2K+ NEW M17 Alienware laptop I purchased arrived with a defective motherboard. I immediately called Alienware and in good faith, worked, with tech support, for the next couple of weeks based on a phony promise if I followed their suggestions and their solutions did not solve the problems I would receive a new M17 laptop replacement.

In retrospect, the entire time I thought we were working together in good faith Alienware was keenly ignoring all my requests for replacements and misleading me with one delay tactic after another

After a couple of weeks I grew annoyed. Alienware finally agreed if I consent to reformat the laptop and it failed to resolve the problems I would definitely receive a "NEW" replacement. A replacement I should have received day one.

Reformatting failed to solve any problems. But, the follow-up phone call to Alienware tech support “Josh” appalled me! “Josh” pretended he never made the agreement or replacement offer.

Outraged, I DEMANDED a new replacement and refused to hear anymore delay tactics. That's when I was told it was now one day over the 30 days warranty and a replacement was no longer an option. This was so bizarre!

At my request an alleged supervisor got on the phone. I informed him this was not an issue of the 30 day warranty policy as repeated requests for replacements were made and ignored since day one.

After reading my case notes the supervisor claimed he saw no notes of my ever requesting a replacement. The supervisor claimed he saw only ONE notation of my "DEMANDING A REPLACEMENT" and that was the day before this telephone conversation; One day after the 30 day warranty. Hence, replacement or refund was no longer an option.

Feeling revolted, I enlighten him that statement was completely false.

After admitting existing problems, Alienware adamantly insists they have the legal option to choose to repair the defective merchandise they sold you, instead of replacing or refunding your money.

Alienware is knowingly & fraudulently selling defective merchandise that does not meet quality standards needed for normal use. Alienware is concealing defects from consumers; only admitting existing problems after the purchase is made & the merchandise is delivered.

Their selling tactics are fraudulent; their demeanor is heartless and their business practice is as criminal as our existing banking system.

They do

They do have this option. Read your warranty coverage. Most businesses do write their warranties to read that they can fix a defective item endlessly in effort to repair it. Only after its declared unrepairable with they replace it.

Did you purchase an extended warranty?
