Mr. Brian Collins initiates calls from 202-683-1442 to people to inform them that there is more that $50 million dollars available in grants that "you may never have to pay back." He gives a phone number to call at the beginning of the call, 202-683-1404, and through out the call encourages the person receiving the call to "start the process" by calling 202-683-1404 and then go to the web site www.RequestAGrant.com. It is a woman's voice on the line. The call finishes by giving the phone number again, 202-683-1404, and telling you to go to the web site. I have an unlisted phone number, you can't get it by calling Information and it is not published. In addition my phone number is signed up with the National DO NOT CALL list.

I went on line and did a search on Google and found all the warnings about the phone number I was asked to call. Fortunately for me my caller id picked the phone number the call came in on. After reading the reports of people being scammed, money charged to their credit cards for services they didn't ask for or agree to and charges posted to their phone bills for service not requested I decided to track the caller down. I had to pay to get his info but if it will put a stop to this scam artist and help other avoid getting burned by this guy then it was well worth the money spent. Mr. Collins is 40 years old and has moved around the country according to information obtained. It may not be his voice on the call but the information came back the phones are in his name. He also has a My Space page.
