#1 Consumer Suggestion

this is a virus

AUTHOR: Crossthestyx - Great Falls (U.S.A.)

The message that you received that said you had a virus was actually the virus itself trying to trick you into purchasing a fake "Anti-Virus" program. There are a lot of these types of viruses coming out lately. Your personal information that you entered could have either gone nowhere or more likely it has gone to somebody that had to do with the programming and/or distribution of the virus. My advice would be to first contact your credit card company and let them know about this....then format your computer's hard drive and reinstall windows...and then you should probably purchase a legitimate anti-virus.

#2 Consumer Comment

This is fraud and should be reported as such

AUTHOR: John - Califon (U.S.A.)

with you credit card company. This is part of a Russian scamming outfit. Go to dslreports dot com and read the thread under Up and Running » Security » Spam, Scam and Phishbusters. It will explain the system. But you MUST report it as fraud so it gets charged back. This will help towards getting the merchant account pulled from the scammer(s).....at least temporarily.
