Amazon.com offers free shipping on some items over 25.00.But this entails them holding your order for up to 8 days to impress upon you the value of paying for shipping.Do not believe Amazon gives you anything for free without a back slapping. They simply do not. Unlike (((competitor's name redacted))) sellers who ship the same whether they offer free shipping or not. I ordered two boxes of candy, 7 pounds weight, from amazon and they have it on a 6 day hold before actually shipping the order, total price 25.98. In contrast I bought two mattress toppers 45 pounds total weight from an (((redacted))) seller and received those in three days from California to Florida. That was also free shipping. The price I paid on (((redacted))) for the mattress toppers was 26.01 Both sellers use Fedex. No wonder I spend thousands of dollars a year with (((competitor's name redacted))) and less than 200.00 with Amazon.
