Purchased a potluck offering ($173.39) from Joe Richey’s Wholesalerwholesaler web site. He described all the possibilities of items you could get from him in this potluck, rings, electronics, toys, camping equipment, watches, jewelry, leather items, hair care products, etc. a regular cornucopia of items. He guarantees that each lot (box) will be worth at least $475.00 retail.
All of this was available for the price of $173.39 (with shipping). You would purchase 3 lots and get a 4th one free. Also, as a side bonus I was now an authorized member of the PowerSeller DropShipper Elite Club.
Imagine my surprise, when the four small boxes arrived, inside were bobby pins and flaming skull wristbands. Now, I fully understand potluck but this wasn’t it. All 4 boxes had identical items and the identical number of items. You could have run one box through a Xerox machine and made the other 3 boxes.
By definition, potluck is an assortment and these 4 boxes of goods do not match that definition. When you’re allegedly cleaning out a large warehouse to get rid of items, it’s mathematically impossible to get 4 identical packages. The odds of someone placing the same items and the same number of items in a box, putting it in warehouse storage and then later having those identical boxes pulled to fill an order, is astronomical.
This was an obvious attempt at dumping slow moving merchandise. These items looked like reject shelf pulls from a dollar store. Anyone who thinks you can get $475.00 retail per box is delusional, an outright thief or a low-life scammer.
I contacted Wholesalerwholesaler by email about this not looking like a potluck deal. I never received a reply.
I run a booth at the flea market off and on. I tried to sell these items there and we had many, many of people hit our booth. What I sold of Joe Richey’s junk, I could hold in one hand. As of right now, I’m stuck with a bunch of junk I can’t sell to even get ½ my money back.
And the pleasure of being a member of the PowerSeller DropShipper Elite Club, forget it. I tried to get on that part of the web site and a photo of a woman with a stop sign greets me and informs me the account has been discontinued. I never even got a chance to check it out and it’s already discontinued.
As a side note, the shipping charges are out of line. There are some good deals on his web site, like for Swaroviski jewelry. But you have to purchase huge lots to overcome the high shipping costs that impact your bottom line.
This Wholesalerwholesaler web site is a rip off, period. They have no interest in making long term customer relations and if you’re interested in wholesale purchases for your business, go some where else. These guy’s just want your money.
