Earlier this year I purchased a Dell v313 AIO color inkjet printer direct from Dell.com. This printer had a single-use, standard yield, black and color ink cartridges According to information Dell has posted on its website (supposedly from testing done by some independent lab), it states for this type cartridge, you should be able to print out approximately 170 black ink copies and 160 color ink copies.
Well, I soon discovered these cartridges did not even print anywhere near the number of copies claimed on their website! So, I decided to try ordering their single-use HIGH yield cartridges direct from Dell. These cartridges did last longer, but I kept a written record of the number of black ink, color ink, & black/color ink copies I printed out until they ran out.
Once again I discovered the figures shown on Dell's website for the approximate number of copies I should be able to print out with these cartridges did not come anywhere close to what I was actually able to print. ALL documents I printed out were nothing but text documents...no pictures, designs, artwork, etc. (Dell's website states these cartridges should print out approximately TWICE what the sngle-use, standard yield cartridges will). DON'T YOU BELIEVE ONE WORD OF THEIR STATEMENTS!
In addition, I have discovered that when I open the "Dell Service Center" screen, and click on "check ink levels", if the levels are down to approximately 30%, the printer will just stop printing any text out...even if I change the quality setting to "Best", OR TRY CLEANING THE CARTRIDGE HEADS. This type of crap did not occur on my old Dell 720 color photo inkjet printer. That printer would continue printing right up to the point the ink levels were shown at the bottom of the animated containerS displayed on the screen!
I would strongly recommend to anyone even considering purchasing a Dell printer, especially a v313 color inkjet...BEWARE! Dell has already been accused of, and successfully sued, in court (New York State, for example) over its false, deceptive & misleading advertising practices and customer service issues! It certainly appears Dell has learned nothing. Steer clear of ANY Dell products! If you have any doubts...just type in the search block on the ROR website, "Dell computer"...and look at all the massive number of complaints against Dell right here ALONE!
