No Bait and Switch

AUTHOR: Thomas - Malone (U.S.A.)

If you look up the definition of "Bait-and-Switch", you'll see that this isn't it.  You paid for a new computer and that's what you got.  When it didn't work, HP spen quite a bit of time trying to help you fix it and at at last offered to fix it with used parts.  Read your warranty.  It clearly states that repair or replacement is at HP's option and repair may consist of used parts.  This is standard industry practice.  There's no rip-off and no laws broken.  This is simply a case of not understanding what is covered by standard warranties and not reading the paperwork carefully.  There are quite a few cases where companies do rip off consumers but you have to make the distinction more carefully.  I don't own an HP computer (I do have a calculator of theirs) and have no connection with the company.  I'm just tired of people who don't get their way yelling, "Rip-off!" at every turn.
