on 02.03.2009 i ordered a sony vaio vgn-fw290jrb ($1,399.99 usd + h/s) thru amazon.com but amazon's seller is LC Way, inc. I researched part time nearly 2 weeks online with various laptop brands, since i had good luck with Sony products before, and there are a couple key features that i must have for this laptop (like duo intel cpu at leat 2.4GHz, atleast 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, Blu-Ray r/w).

on 02.12.209 i received from ups. the Sony's box looked kindda different that any other sony products that i purchased before that cover with packing tape all around. Once i open the box and remove the laptop out, the pink wrap the laptop also out of it place. The first thing i check was to see if i can locate the model number sticker on the lower right of the screen and the sticker on the back/bottom of the laptop, but no model sticker was there. I also discover there is no sticker for the blu-ray capability. So, i place a few blu-ray disc movie and the drive spindle sound lound and i kindda knew there is no blu-ray drive.

i look into the "System Information" from the laptop and the bios said the system model is fw140e, and the system name is fw2890jrb. Usually, the system name is the same as computer name is set by the user (not the seller). I called Sony to verified and I was right.

I called amazon customer service and explain the situation and of course they want me to take the long route 3 days to discuss with their seller and full refund within 2 weeks.

So, I emailed the seller via amazon.com and within 24 hrs the seller (LC Way, inc / Eugene), he tried to justify that i have the right system. Because LC way, inc purchased from sony in a large bulk and LC Way, inc choose not to have blu-ray due to a small screen (16.4", Eugene forgot I am the buyer and i know what i want to buy). Eugene also claim that Sony offend make a WRONG name into their bios.

LC Way, inc/Eugene and Amazon. Please listen to your customers !!!!

I purchased the Sony VGN-FW290JRB and NOT FW140e.

I am still waiting to resolve and have my full refund back to me.
