Geek Squad Geek Squad is a Rip Off! Best Buy Oceanside California

I called Best Buy and made an appointment for The Geek Squad to come and hook up a wireless router for me. Two guys came to my home (one of them was in training). It took two them over 2 hours to hook it up and load the software . I couldn't believe it took them so long, but then I figured the one guy was in training..so okay.. . They charged me around $250.00.

Within 10 minutes after they left I turned on my computer only to find I had the "blue screen of death" staring at me. I called the Geeks , they claimed no responsibility and said it was working fine when they left.

They were rather rude and would not even discuss what they thought could have happened from the time they left my home and the time I turned on the computer . They said that if they were to come out to my home again, it would cost me another$250.00 possiblymore.

I ended up losing all my data. It set me back months of work, and eventually the computer its self. For with all the work I was having to recover and make up at the office, I wasn't able to get on the phone with my buddies at Dell in India until around 2:00AM to try and get my laptop restored..

ON the fourth night of these late night repair calls, I actually fell alseep while on the phone with the Dell tech and poured a full cup of coffee into my laptop.

That was five years ago. I can see by other reports that nothing has changed. I've learned a ot since then and can handlejust about anything to with my computer... but the most important thing I learned was to
