I responded to a TV commercial for a satisfaction guaranteed PC check from MaxMySpeed.com aka CyberDefender.com. The price was $29.95 then went to $19.98 on a second chance offer pop-up window. I paid the $19.98 on my debit card and was directed to a phone number and a technician at another website to get their software downloaded to my PC. The technician (actaully a salesman) made small talk for a while then said I need a major "deep" fix that their master techs on staff can fix but will cost $400 per year and he can finace it into three payments. It took a while but I finally realized this is a "bait and switch" and declined. I went to my email for my payment receipt and called the CyberDefnder for a refund to learn that I can cancel their service but I am not entitled to a refund. And the girl on the phone said she does not have the authority to process a refund. I had to threaten to visit their office (in LA) for a face to face with her boss before she agreed to give me a refund...which she processed. So all in all, these people are rip off, bait and switch thieves so don't let them push you around. Don't go there to start with.
