strattford career institute sci charged for program after canceling internal, Vermont

I signed on with this company to learn computer repair and maintainance the add said $695.00 $20.00 down and $30 some odd dollars a month.first three lessons were computer history and that was good next three were complicated that only a learned repairman would understand

i took the lesson book to a computer shop and he said tell them you want computer science which i did and told them i did not understand the lessons they were sending me then they sent me three more lessons when i called to cancel i was given a fax number and told to fax and to check later

the add said cancel anytime and was very plain that you could not get lessons ahead unless you were paid up ahead now they have sent me a bill for &357.00 i called them and they said i was half way through the course which was news to me now they have turned it over to a collection agency

i don't intend to pay them and i don't want it on my credit which i have already been threatened with i have written to the collecton agency but as yet have not had answer i am 76 and my income is social security so they cannot sue me but i don't want it on my record
