Ubid held an Auction for 5 Gateway FX4710 UB802A CORE 2 QUAD 2.5GHZ DESKTOP PC's The auction seller was Re-Tek Corporation. Once the auction was over I got the email saying I had won the Auction, another buyer had won the 4 others. A few days after the auction I got an email saying that the items were not available, and a replacement system was being offered or they would cancel the Order and give me a $40.00 coupon. The replacement system was nowhere near compareable, but they were going to offer it at the same price. In the passing of emails I found out who the seller was who was auctioning the items off, and visited there website and found they had the exact same computer I bid on for sale. see url http://retekdirect.com/gatewayfx4710ub802acore2quad25ghzdesktoppc.aspx at 675.00. the auction price was 380.00.

What I can only deduce by this is that Retek didnt not like the price their items went for in auction, and withheld the items from uBidid. Ubid needs to check thier sellers out a bit better. Bidding on items on the Ubid site is like entering into a contract. Thier sellers when placing items for sale through uBid enter into a contract. On my part both companies are in breach of contract.

Craigslist, and ebay

UBID SLANDEROUS

I want to assure anyone who has been affected by Ubids comments that Re-Tek was out of stock, was greatly mis informed by UBID. At no time did Re-tek state we were out of stock. We advised UBID of a clerical mistake on the starting bid. We asked UBID if we could cancel as this was an honest mistake. There response was that we could go ahead and cancel and they would notify the customers of the error and also give them an option for another computer we have. However, instead of being truthful, UBID lied and stated the orders were canceled because Re-Tek no longer had stock. This backfired on them because we offer the same inventory on multiple websites and their customers found this out. Because of this Re-Tek has been Kicked off of UBID for merely asking if we could cancel.

We Hope We've Made Things Right

This unfortunate situation occurred due to miscommunication. Our seller Re-Tek recently started posting with us and they made a clerical error with a listing and due to miscommunication between us the orders were not filled. We screwed up and we're sorry. We go to great lengths to foster a trusted selling platform and, with the help of Re-Tek, we've now resolved the situation with each and every affected customer.

Re-Tek has been reinstated as a seller in good standing. We apologize to them for the miscommunication and we're happy to have them back among our family of verified sellers. We thank them for their loyalty and for taking such swift action. We look forward to doing business with Re-Tek for years to come.

This appears to be commonplace with this company

Notice the different excuses they offered for not fulfilling the order. Apparently that's how this company operates.
